PWGL Valentine Swap...

I received a package in the mail yesterday from my Valentine swap partner at PWGL!
It's an adorable little heart ornament created by Lori Kai at Black Crow Primitives and I just LOVE it!
Thank you so much Lori!!

A New Doll

I'm working on a new cloth and clay doll. She's my Sunflower Gal. I am so looking forward to summer so she definitely will help remind me of those sun-filled, gorgeous days! She's patiently waiting to be finished while sitting in my Arthur Wood piggy cup.

Slow and Steady...

Well, I've finally painted some of the cloth and clay tree on a hill. I'm still working on it...when i get a chance!

Bobcat Sighting !

We've seen lots of wild animals out here. Last summer we had a huge black bear walking through our front yard, a family of beautiful red foxes as well. There have been plenty of graceful deer and lo and behold, while waiting in my car (thankfully) for the bus to come by...here comes a bobcat! Running along as if he hadn't a care in the world. Right at that very moment, the school bus comes along with all the children peering out their windows to get a glimpse of this wild creature.
SO COOL! I just had to share that event with you all. I took a picture of the footprints in the snow just for fun.
Just soak up all that goes on around you. You don't want to miss a thing in this short life we have.
I am the lucky recipient of 6 awards! Duplicates of all 3 from 2 different wonderful people! Thanks to Caroline from Caroline's Crafts and Kimmie from Once Upon a Blue Crow.
Sorry it took me so long to put these up...it's just been very busy around here lately! As soon as I meet up with some new bloggers, I will pass these on. I think all the people I know, I've sent awards to. Thank you SO MUCH you two, it's very much appreciated!
With one of the awards, I am supposed to list 5 addictions so here goes...
1.) I am addicted to peace and quiet (most of the time).
2.) But I also am addicted to the laughter of my children in the background.
3.) I am addicted to the little things my children tell me each night as I tuck them
in. With my son it goes like this..."Love you, love you" he tells me "Ditto,
Ditto", my turn..."You're the best son ever", his.."You're the best mom ever"..
together we say "Good night!&quo…

A little Beeswax Anyone?

Just wanted to post the new pic of the tiny house with a coating of wax over it. I think it looks much cooler this way. I'm also working on a tree. Not sure what I think of it yet. I just added some paperclay to the trunk and created some roots too. I was just experimenting with the flowers...I'm thinking maybe buttons as flowers might be cute. We'll see....
This is my very first award since I've been blogging and I am displaying it proudly! Thank you to Julie-Ann from http://Heavenleighart.blogspot.com for nominating me. She paints beautiful angels who have the most amazing eyes, check out her artwork! Apparently I am supposed to nominate 10 other bloggers who show great attitude and gratitude. So...I am nominating the 10 people who follow my blog (actually 7...my mom is a loyal follower, thanks ma! but she doesn't have a blog and obviously Julie-Ann since she already has her very own lemonade stand and Rock River Stitches would like to remain tag/award free).
So...Here they are...

SO FUN !

I thought I would try something new with the cloth and paper clay that I've been working with. I thought it might be fun to make a little folk art village. This is my first tiny house (it measures about 4" tall and 1 1/2" wide). It has a fabric door too. I am working on a tree as well. I might try putting a little wax over the top, that might look really cool. It's been SO FUN !! I'll be posting them as I finish them and will list them on Ebay or maybe Etsy. I've been thinking about opening an account there too. Take care all!
SOLD ON EBAY
Something different...
I've finally found a little time to paint something new. It's something a little different. I found these books by Beatrix Potter. This painting is my version of a book by her titled "The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher". Mr. Fisher and his friend are fishing in a small boat and as quoted in the book, Jeremy says "I will get some worms and go fishing and catch a dish of minnows for my dinner, if I catch more than five fish, I will invite my friends." Wouldn't you just love a minnow for dinner? Whaddya' say?
I've listed him on Ebay tonight (another late night...it'll be midnight in 2 minutes exactly). Hope you can check it out. Take care all! Stop on by again.

Still going...

Well, I'm still working on Dear ol' Santa. I've posted 2 pics. One with the clay all over him except for his face (I did do his eyebrows in clay though) and one with him painted (except his face). I was afraid I'd mess it up. Maybe I'll just paint it in. There are some pencil markings on it right now. Still have to add arms and a bell to the tip of his hat as well.
Anyway...anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
I have SO many Christmas things to pack up and put away in the attic this weekend! But there is one thing I think I will leave out. I found this advent calendar a couple of years ago (I think I got it at Marhsalls or something...not sure) but I thought it would be fun to keep it out all year long and during the month when special days come up, birthdays, holidays, groundhog day :} I can pop a little treat inside the calendar. Granted, it only has 25 days on it but I'm sure we could work something out. I just thought I'd share that idea. Anyway...hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve and have a great New Year's Day.
