Folk Art Paper Clay and Wood Doll

Hi! Just finished a Gritty Jane table leg doll although it is not actually made with a table leg but rather, several wooden pieces (knobs, spindles, etc.) glued together to create her very curvy body. The face, petals, were created using paper clay. I forgot how much fun it was creating my first one (sold a while ago on Etsy). This little flower girl is also listed on Etsy if you want to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by people!

How Gorgeous is Fall?!

Borrowing the sun just for a little bit and putting it back into the sky.

More pictures from my daughter (and one from my son who took a pic of his sister sitting on a rock). Good job guys! Gorgeous fall colors.

Fall is Coming!

Hot, humid summer is over. Fall is creeping up on us. Just wanted to share a couple more pics that my daughter took the other day.

My 13 year old daughter loves taking pictures of nature so I had her start her own blog. It's called Photos in the Forest. Here are a few samples of some of the creatures she has found in our yard. If you want to check out more pics, click here. Great job Katlyn! I love seeing the world through your eyes.

May God Bless America

Have a safeand happy 4th everyone! Image courtesy of "The Vintage Moth."

Redhead Folk Art Angel Painting

My newest painting. This time it's a redheaded angel (pinkish red to be exact.) She'll be on Ebay later this evening or Friday eve. Thanks for stopping by! You can find her here.

A new painting titled "Sorrowful" painted on a wooden cradled canvas measuring approximately 8"x8." I love how the colors turned out in this one. I've used textured papers, acrylic paints and embossing powders. You can check it out here in my Ebay store.

Thanks for stopping by! Sold

New Angel Painting

It has been a while since I've painted anything new. This time I painted this on a piece of canvas paper measuring 12" x 16". This is my version of a painting done by (my favorite artist) William Bouguereau called "The Story Book."

You can find it on Ebay here. Sold

A Lovely Lady

She is such a beautiful sight isn't she? I just thought I would share a couple of pictures that my daughter took. My son and daughter's classes took a trip to Ellis Island to see the Statue of Liberty. It certainly would have been something else to see this in real life. They had a great time!

A New Kidney...

I have been gone so long from this blog! Sorry for those of you who visit now and then and have had nothing new to see. But, I have a pretty good reason. My husband has been on dialysis for the past 6 years and has now received a kidney. He was in the hospital for just about 2 weeks but is now home and still recovering.
We're so glad he is back!
We are all slowly getting back into our normal daily, thank you all for being patient.

New Tutorial from Gritty Jane!

If you haven't heard already, Gritty Jane is offering a new tutorial. She will explain how to mount prints onto wood. Click on the picture above to check it out!

Pileated Woodpecker ?

Look what I found in my backyard! I did a search on google images and the most similar looking bird I can find is called a Pileated Woodpecker. So, I'm assuming that is what they are.

They just kept hopping around the tree, simultaneously.

Beautiful birds!

Eve in the Garden

A new painting on Ebay. Check her out here. It's titled "Eve".

Hoping everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day. My sweet little kids made special cards just for me and my husband surprised me with a lovely rose and of course....LOTS of chocolate! My son says that the person in his card is having a Valentine's Dance Party. LOVE them all! Thank you to my family :)
